Greens Break Their Own Electoral Law
Normally I wouldn't give a toss about a few Green Party posters put up near my house. This used to be a democracy, so in theory they should be able to put up whatever they like. The only trouble is that, since they voted for such draconian electoral law, you'd think they would be able to avoid breaking it?
I took some photos of the offending posters - you can click on them below to enlarge. Note that there is no authorisation on them anywhere, that all three are clearly campaigning, and one explicitly warns of the consequences of not voting Green (Your grandchildren will give you the finger. Which sounds fine by me, considering the consequences of voting Green would be starvation through biofuel subsidies and food regulation).
Note also that these are not old posters. They are only a couple of weeks old, and were put out AFTER Labour and ACT were already rapped over the knuckles. You have to wonder at the breathtaking arrogance of it all. Did they really think the new rules would only apply to National and not to them? Well sorry, you vile pack of communists, if we can't have our free speech then neither can you. You're nicked.

Just going to add this to the DVL blog.
You sure that that isn't an authorisation statement below the Green logo?

Nope, it just says "Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand".

Ok they're breaking the law, make a comaplaint.
This is the biggest problem in this country. No one is doing anything to see the laws enforced.
They screwed up, let it bite them in the ass. I would have thought this was pretty much right smack in the middle of your area Blair.
