Racism at Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton, the luxury goods manufacturer, recently held a function at its Customs Street store on Wednesday evening (7th May).  I believe it was a product launch of some sort.  Outside caterers were contracted to provide the drinks and snacks.

I have it on very good authority that this catering company was under strict instruction by Louis Vuitton to supply only "European" staff.  With the exception of the supervisor, who is a Pacific Islander, this instruction was complied with, and the guests were served only by white waitstaff.

Considering the event was attended by people of various nationalities and skin tones, this strikes me as particularly bizarre.  Why request whites only for your catering staff?  What is this, the 1950s?!

Louis Vuitton should be ashamed of itself, and should fire the person who made this disgusting request.  I'll be boycotting Moet et Chandon in the meantime ;o)
